Good systems for exploration credits

As many of you already know, 2.3 has greatly increased the payout for exploration, particularly for earth-like planets. I recently found a tip from a youtuber on a system worth big money right outside the bubble:

https://youtu.be/LJU1UEZAbPc

Hot DAMN, was he right: that one single system (Col 285 Sector CX-J C9-8) was worth 4.9 million credits.

Anyone have any leads on other big money systems? Would be great to start compiling a list (at least until Frontier nerfs it again).

This really concerns me. The payouts are fine if you're well outside of the bubble. But the meta is now get a 250k DSS, a grade A FSD, and go to cash cow systems early on. Like for me, a pioneer explorer, I find the 4m per hour (smart scanning) to be perfect. It's about even with other things I could do. But the payouts for a new player are just stupid high. FD, I'd suggest a scaling system. Keep the idea of terraformables and ELW's to be gold mines, but have a multiplier based on your exploration rank. An elite explorer whose data can for sure be trusted should be worth more than an aimless explorer. idk how you spin it, but the current payouts are perfect for high rank players... extremely high for newbies.

There are complete routes out there if you are willing to search for them.

No Dave, you stop that, you stop that right now.

Sothis should be pretty good, it was 350,000 or so for a full system scan before the buff. The two ELWs in the system should be double that now.

I liked the old payouts... Before passengers... now with passenger missions giving obscene amounts of rank and cash, we real explorers need our balancing. Still hoping for less beige, caves, more detail w/o going into the graphics config files, more depth, more mysteries in the black, and just generally more than jump, scan, scan, scan, restock AFM, jump... It gets tedious getting to the truly stunning parts of the galaxy, and some fun mechanics, EVA for repairs, mystery and the like would likely make our small but devoted community grow, hopefully for the better.

You liked getting paid 60k for an ELW?

They need to just give us a "Real Elite Dangerous" mode already so people that want -90% payouts or whatever can just play that mode and be as immersed as they can stand.

Who are you facepalming at?

The entirety of this thread. I should have seen it coming the instant I saw something about increased exploration rewards. I'm disappointed in the thread, the purpose of it, the motivation of it, and myself. All of the facepalm.

Probably my pseudo-joke/strawman.

Sometimes, when you know better, you should just trust your instinct. Me, I'm just here for the memes, obviously. [hehe]

Lol. You wreak of late-game entitlement. The money grind in this game is stupid and only gets in the way of new players enjoying the contwnt they spent money on. As ObsidianAnt pointed out in his video on the topic, all this barrier achieves is frustration and a smaller player base.

Helps if you quote whoever you are talking to. ;)

Having payouts linked to rank is cool. With exploration I'd be happy if bubble and immediate surrounding was completely known so you'd need to get far out to start earning.

The most fun part of the game was advancing through the early ships. The grind begins when it's time to get a Python. There's enough good systems in and around the bubble to bank 20mil in like an hour. Go ahead and do it. Ruin the game for yourself. I'll never forget how fun, and at times frustrating, that was.

I'm all for higher payouts for exploration data but I feel that making a list of high payout systems is not what exploration is about. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it but you can't truly call it exploration. Can you be proud of an Elite exploration rank (or any rank for that matter) if it was attained by simply following a list of previously discovered systems? Not me personally, and I'm quite proud to have my name on systems all over the galaxy whether those systems consist of just a single star or one that nets me big credits. Why, way back when we had to make do with vanilla FSDs and low wages to be called an Elite explorer but by golly we persevered through it all! We also never had those fangledangled passenger missions to boost our ranks either. Anyway, if you're a player that only sees your credit amount as a measure of success than rank means nothing.
