Got 2nd of Big Three

o7 CMDRs,

last weekend I reached Duke with Imperial Navy. This weekend I got my Rear Admiral promotion. Money gained while ranking with Federation I used for my second (after Anaconda) Big Ship.

May I present to you: Imperial Cutter "Takao".

I must say I waited for this moment. When I got ED over a year ago I investigated all the ships available. When I saw Cutter I decided I'll get her. Sadly, then I learned it requires over 200 MILLION credits (flying Sidewinder and earning 3k per mission felt... yeah, exactly) and high ranking with navy. Which was rumored to take about 6 months. Disheartening at best.

Mostly due to above I put those plans on hold. In the meantime I was working toward other goals, while earning required money for the Cutter. I spent that money for other ships. Time went and I wasn't closer even by a bit. Then Beyond came and things changed. For better. I managed to acquire necessary ranks for all 3 Big Ships (not counting Anaconda obviously) and secure enough credits just for one. I'm not ready for combat so Corvette can wait.

It was the Cutter I wanted the most. She was my top #1 goal, my prime target. Back then I thought it will take me at least 2 years to get there. I managed to make it within 15 months of non continuous play. Mostly last two weeks but shh...

Now I need to start earning money to afford basic outfitting. Base 9 LYs range is non impressive, I managed to boost it to ~12 LYs. Now I need top FSD (about 60M which I don't have atm) to beat 30 LYs range. I also need to farm some engineering mats for range extension. Lots of work ahead. But first step I already made.

I have a iCutter :x

Nice cmdr!

Makes me want to go back to where mine's parked up, dust it off, & get some more engineering done on it.

Congratulations mate. It is really an awesome ship. I remember the feeling when I had one

Good work OP.

Be heartened that it’s only the high end PvP builds that’ll cost a billion plus.

You can outfit a very capable trade Cutter for less than 300 million (including ship) and then use it to trade your way to the big stuff if you want :)
