Newcomer / Intro Got a attacked and a bounty for going near a planetary base

As the title says, I was on a planet and heading toward the only Base. I got within range of requesting docking, but there was no option, I couldn't see the base in "Contacts". I hovered around for a bit and then I guess I got too close as all of a sudden I was given a 600 bounty and then was being shot at.

So;

1st; Are there bases on planets that you can't land at? ( I am in a ASP)

2nd; I am almost certain I got no warning at all about being too close to the base/ violating their air space. Just instant bounty and hostile fire. Isn't that a little harsh? I couldn't even really see any indication of what area was defined as "their" air space.

1) Yup. You can only land at actual ports as far as I'm aware. There are smaller bases that you can attack.

2) You should see a message pop up in the top-right corner of the screen, something along the lines of "Trespass warning: clear the area immediately".

Yes, many planetary bases cannot be docked at. From the system map take a look at the Services offered by any particular base, if you can land at the base there will be a service listed long the lines of "docking" (not sure of exact wording, but the wording is clear enough).

I don't know about trespass warnings in ships, but if you get close to such a base in your SRV then you'll see a red boarder around it on your local map and a warning will show up in the upper right corner when you cross that boundary. It's easy to miss, though.

Basically the smaller settlements are private ones and not for general use, they often form the location for missions though. Only the larger ports that have landing pads can be used by players.

Ok cool, thanks guys. I think a red no-fly-zone box around bases on your scanner (like the SRV gets) would be useful.

Ok, more confusing stuff to do with planetary exploration and getting "wanted".

a) I land on planet with no ports and explore with my SRV. I find a collection of buildings being protected by some "wanted" drones. This area also has a red "no entry" box around it. I shoot all the drones and trespass into the red box and collect some cargo in the middle..normally tea. Great, no bounty put on me.

b) I Continue exploring and find another group of buildings with red trespass zone and this one has a bunch of (again) wanted drones and some turrets and a Data point (still not really sure what the point of those are). I Proceed to shoot all the drones no prob. I then go into the red trespass area...and now I am "Wanted" with and 800 bounty on me. Also all the turrets no start shooting at me...what?

I never get a time limit to tell me to leave the area, just instantly wanted. Also, is this area friendly or what? Why are there hostile drones flying amongst friendly turrets? Shouldn't they be shooting each other? Also I can shoot the hell out of the turrets and they don't care..but if I go in the red box I am wanted...

How am I supposed to know what areas I can go into with out getting a bounty and which I can't? There is never any info on the Contacts panel about these areas.

Some of this stuff just feels slapped together to crate "some thing to do" while your on a planet surface...and none of it makes much sense to the player.

I have no intention of committing crime...but nearly every time I go exploring on a planet I end up getting wanted, caused by what just feels like a cruel trick. You get punished with out any ability to avoid it.

This sounds pretty "off" to me .. definitely if you're getting fined/bounty for attacking wanted targets.
Something to try to flag up with devs, maybe submit a bug report?

I believe those areas you describe are socalled POIs which are ment for the different "missions" to carry out those missions descriptions. Not meant to be casually looked upon by "explores", so if you deside to drive into/around these spots be prepared to get fined every now and again.
Not all of them have those "wanted skimmers" flying around them though. A week ago or so I came across a place which only had 1 building but a large area around filled with "automated mining equipment things"(not exactly sure what they were called) but there were no skimmers noly a few turrets but they were "friendly" and didn't open fire on me, nor did I get a fine for tresspassing...
