Hardware & Technical Got Bling?

OK so some folks would say that RGB RAM is a bit over the top (not including myself as I personally have some) but this RAM is like totally BLING dudes.

This to me is a bit over the top Yo!

I bet Mr. T has some of this in his machine. :D

I have RGB stuff, possibly too much, in my new build but gold and jewels is crazy IMO. I did get a comment on Imgur from a guy who put some in a clients machine and called it ridiculous.

It's alright. At least these are functional. Corsair now sells RAM cards with no memory onboard at all, but all the RGB.

I'm a bare, green, PCB kinda guy.

Some thermally conductive underfill beneath each BGA memory IC would be appreciated for extra cooling and resistance to thermal cycling, but I can do that myself.

What? You mean I could make it "look" like I have four DIMM slots filled with RAM but have two dummies?

Got a link?

Edit....Nevermind. Found 'em. Hmmm, interesting.

What?

With all the technical computer knowledge you offer these forums I am surprised you don't have a fancy looking, high end machine. I didn't think they still made enthusiast boards in bare green anymore. :D

I bet you are happy with eating the contents of a tin of beans

Damn they're ugly as hell, cheap and tacky looking, no thanks.

It's a real shame, since imo the standard dark grey brushed aluminium TridentZ modules (rgb or standard) are some of the most visually appealing ram for a showcase build.

Got a few of the standard ones in my rig...

(@Morbad, don't look, it's rgb, you'll hate it :p )

Enthusiast memory is mostly just cherry picked stuff that's been pre-sorted into speed bins and marked up for maximum profit.

I'm fully capable of testing and sorting my own memory, at least at the module level.

I have several RGB components spread through my systems.

I won't refuse a good deal just because it's got LEDs, unless the LEDs themselves aren't practical for the environment (e.g. bright blue or white ones in the room I normally sleep in).

My aesthetics are largely an absence of aesthetic consideration, not taste that specifically favors the spartan, though all other things being equal I would choose the later.

Nice looking build there Jon!

Here's some more eye bleeding material for Morbad. :D

Crappy picture warning! My "good" digital camera died not long ago so a crappy, low-end cell phone pic will have to do. (No really, it's a Samsung J3 Eclipse. The very bottom of the Galaxy line.)

Completely custom build, including custom water loop. This pic does not have all the finished glass work, so looks a bit rough yet...

See I'm just thinking of getting a case without a window so I no longer have to see the mix-&-match of different brands in my system.

What's wrong with mix-n-match? Only two of my parts "match" and that was purely unintentional.

As long as the parts you have function well together then don't sweat it.

Now if you still have the stock Intel cooler (gulp....shudder) on your CPU? Well......spray painting your window over is always an option! :D

Just get something with dark tinted glass. All you will see is the illumination. All I can see through my glass is pretty much three temperature indicators on my GPU and a glowing logo. The rest is just a silhouette.
