it made me very very angry. When I bought Elite: Decorous the last thing I expected was danger. I now refuse to play in open, groups or solo because too many of the NPCs are psychopaths. Whoever programmed the AI is equally psycho and should be fired from the company.

I get interdicted by NPCs. I get shot at by NPCs. I get killed by NPCs. What kind of game is this?

I propose a petition to force the developers to remove all and any danger from the game. Until such action is taken I'm going back to solitaire.

ROFL - really? I had a nice shoot out with a small wing of weaker ships, but it was 5 of them, used SCs for the first time just to see what they do, still got down to 30% hull. Epic fight. (I'm in a OK fitted cobra - btw, where can I find high class gimbaled burst lasers?)

Given SJA's obvious abilities I wouldn't be so sure of that! Some of those NPCs are now not only good but distinctly sneaky as well as persistent. Just as it should be.

Solitaire is just ridiculous. The amount of times i get to the end and can't complete it and have to start it ALL OVER AGAIN losing all my gameplay progress. What a rubbish feature sort it out solitaire devs!

It seems all games are going this way recently, it's a sorry state of affairs

I was griefed playing chess the other night. I spent HOURS setting up my pieces in a pleasing fashion to my liking and another player, without word of warning, decimated my ranks of pawns, took my major pieces and finally killed my King!

As everyone knows, your actions in game reflect who you are in real life, so I reported him to the authorities under the suspicion of treason and regicide.

</sarcasm> Yep, most of you guys replying here get it. Sadly it seems that the majority of players simply don't. I'm growing tired of reading stupid cry-baby posts from players that want a kiss, cuddle and handy from others CMDRs, declaring those who won't play their way as psychopaths. It is effecting my view of the community in a dim light; whenever I see posts trying to compare real life to game play I feel sick. When did gamers become so timid and emasculated? It makes me want to shoot at CMDRs on sight, serving up as tough love. Harden TF up guys. It is a game. Gaming is escapism. A paradigm of participating in fantastical endeavours that you could never do in real life. So what if you get blown up? So what if you lost some credits. Its not real money. Its virtual play money. And in reality it is worth SFA.

Don't be shocked that some players actually want to dogfight and test their metal against other players. That is the nature of online gaming. Always has been, always will be. FD understand this, which is why you have your precious groups and solo mode. If you're flying around in open, you are putting yourself out there. Expect to be engaged.
