got some new toys...

So Mr. UPS arrived today, and it was like xmas for me.
New PSU, new R9 290x GPU, Logitech G430 headset, and the Buttkicker! (pretty much everything except the DK2)

A few hours later it looked like this:


Took a bit of work getting that huge vid card to fit, but she works nice (can easily run any of my current games on max settings).
I was also impressed with the quality of the buttkicker. No cheap components there. Though it took a while to get it setup right. My sound card's subwoofer output doesn't seem to work, and I couldn't get it to output from the main audio-out and the headset at the same time. Only way I got it working was to use a splitter off the headset connection. (even that was finicky, as the connection was initially mono)
Surprisingly, the thing I'm most impressed with so far, is the headset! I've been playing E D with my crummy monitor speakers. I had no idea there are so many intricate and subtle sounds in the game.

So my room is still a disaster, and I keep flying around and boosting, decelerating, turning, boosting... all with a huge grin on my face. The combination of a good headset along with the buttkicker is freakin awesome!
...and I don't even have the DK2 yet. Man, I can't wait!

Recently got the Buttkicker Gamer 2 also. There is a handy software called Voicemeeter (google it) that let you output to both soundcard and headset at the same time. It can be minimized and autostarted with Windows start. I think I read somewhere that Elite doesn't use the subwoofer output for bass so you have to connect it to L+R stereo out.

I timed this splurge just right. She left earlier this week to visit her sister for 2 weeks. I should also have the DK2 before she gets back. So she won't notice anything.
Well except for the rumbling noise and seeing me wearing some weird looking headset. ...yeah, I'm a dead man.

DK2 + ButtKicker rocks. I also use buttkicker when playing COD games. I chair feels like its going to be lifted off the floor with each explosion.

Ahhhh great days indeed. My living room has been similar to this for two weeks now.... New black chair, new graphics card, then two new screens, PC sound system. It all makes for fantastic cardboard and bubble wrap floor coverings.
Girlfriends can be most vocal about such floor decorations however.
