Newcomer / Intro Got stuck fast...

So I used the single player practice mode to get the basic controls down and tune the joystick to this game. Then I got in the real game, picked "launch" and got the takeoff checklist. What an annoying thing to stop me from playing a new game. A totally and completely unecessary "checklist".

All the button pushes check off like they should, but all movements of the stick or hat just make the check box flash and not check... so I can't continue. Can't play:-(

I can't tell you how annoying it is to be prevented from playing a game over a "checklist" that is all fluff and totally and completely unecessarry. Is there any way to just bypass the checklist rather than spend the next week trying to find a QA resolution to a problem that shouldn't exist to begin with. ESC doesn't work. Am I really going to be prevented from playing the game over this stupid, needless "checklist"?

Basically, the checklist is a bug that keeps me from even leaving the dock. Great checklist, it'a really helping out a lot...

Welcome to Elite, and yeah the whole checklist thing is a bit of a drag. Hold each control for a couple of seconds and you'll complete it. Good luck commander!

I think you can turn the checklist off from the right hand menu - not sure though.

You need to turn the joystick all the way to the said directions for it to register. If you just flick it towards right, the check box will only flash. Turn it all the way.

Come on guys, really?!

You need to do checklist only the first time and when i first saw it, i thought: omg, nice little detail.
Secondly, it's so easy to do it, just follow the instructions.
Thirdly, you can switch it off in the options menu.

you have to hold the control for the movement controls a while (there will be a line rotating around the checkbox) you can also go to your status screen (to the right) and turn the checklist of. I think it is somewhat usefull to have this when you changed your control settings and it kind of helps you emerse a little bit more (cause in a realy airplane you usually also go through a checklist before takeing off. But I also disabled it after the first few startes because it clearly is annoying after a while.

Yes tried check list once, but turned it off after that.
Can be turned off in options or by using right side menu in game (Default key 4) and in list of options find it, select it and turn it off.
