Got well and truely smacked by cobra while in python.

Hi cmndrs. I'm shamefully asking a few things as not sure what happened.
Have python fully kitted out a grade. Weapons are all thermal as cmndrs run once shields are down so havnt bothered with kinetic for a while.
Now then cobra has no sheilds and is enemy and is in system with quite a good trade route so I thought I'm going to show who is the boss. Couple of passes and I've hit him and his hull is down to 92% but I get the horrible noise my shields are going down. To late for shield boosters so panicked and got out of there. Did I just have a lesson in eight with a pp weapon or is his ship somehow very special.

Maybe PAs or rail guns? Surprised they would take your shields down that quickly though in a Python.

Sounds like the Invisible Ship Bug (see here). Did you get the impression that you were under fire by more than one ship, or from impossible fire arcs from that Cobra?

Report the incident via Bug Report, and attach the Netlog.
My A-SB Vulture was killed within seconds (!) when I hunted two individual Cobras, invisible enemies turned up at my tile when I was in full hunt and baked me in seconds with concentrated beam and MC fire.
