Commanders,
Deep Recon X are proud to be hosting 'A Grand Day Out'. This exploration trip has been designed specifically for the new PS4 players who want to explore the wonders of the galaxy. That being said, we feel that it should be open to ALL commanders who want to have an introduction to the wonders of ED exploration.
GDO aims to showcase some of the near-bubble highlights of our galaxy, taking in as many aspects of exploration as we can including asteroid bases, the new Thargoid hives, stunning scenery, difficult plotting around permit sectors and the Guardian Ruins. You will be asked to locate surface features from given coordinates, race SRVs, visit barnacles... It should be a thorough workout for gaining your exploration skills.
Detailed information in a printable format: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4344029/GDO Final.pdf
The roster can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZE3jrlk9EIe834vl7ePy26R3NwZHhpEqqOJPjMWFoeg/edit?usp=sharing
In addition to the new explorers, we would also welcome anyone who can lend support across any of the platforms in the following roles:
Armed escort
Fuel Rat
Search and Rescue / Medical frigate (store those occupied escape pods)
The itinerary is as follows:

Waypoint 9: Back to the bubble At your own pace.
The waypoints are all very close to the bubble, and any seasoned explorers reading this will twitch uncontrollably at the length of time between waypoints... this is designed for those who may still be in stock ships, and detailed exploration between waypoints is actively encouraged.
There are purposely no meet-up times - Commanders are encouraged to cooperatively schedule and coordinate mutually-suitable times between themselves. This will reduce difficulties for Commanders in differences in time-zones. DRX operates under a policy of inclusivity, and therefore Commanders should be free to follow the route in a timeframe which suits themselves. The route can be completed as a solo pilot, orin wings. We have found that due to console limitations, it is best practice to individually route between waypoints before gathering at the pre-arranged meet-up points. It will be up to you and your comrades to locate suitable meeting places in the waypoint systems.Commanders are actively encouraged to explore the regions between the waypoints - you have plenty of time! Get out there and find things. Binary planets almost touching, mountains which extend into space, canyons tens of kilometers deep, geysers and other active geology, and who knows what else…
The PS4 Commanders have been discussing this trip for some time here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...the-very-first-player-organised-event-on-PS4!
DRX have a Discord chat page going for the trip also: Please ask for Guest and GDO permissions: https://discord.gg/aPev4vb
