Grand Opening for Rides

Something i always wanted in RCT3 was for new rides to have grand openings.

So you could pay to put on a grand opening and maybe have somebody behind a podium giving a speech and cutting a ribbon. It would be cool to see interested guests huddled around waiting for the new ride to open then swarming in for the first couple of days of it being open.

Also just in general if any ride is new then i think there should be a bump in the number of riders for a short period of time as this is accurate to real parks, new rides are always the busiest for a few months.

I think they could quite easily add a bump in guest numbers that want to ride a new attraction. A grand opening would be nice and who knows, they might put it in :D if not you could build a set and roleplay it :p

Yeah I think it would be pretty awesome. I guess we might find out tomorrow if the stream is on.

I'd like to see it tie in with the park management side of things, not just visually. Running promotions with new rides brings in new guests, etc.

And then you have to pay more for a 'famous' celebrity to open your ride. This is more expensive than your local mayor, but it also generates more interested guests, as they want to see their idol.

+1 Love the idea of having grand openings for new attractions.

It would also be cool if we could link billboards to certain rides. This could be an addition to the regular advertising campaigns.
So, if guests would look at a sign that´s linked to an attraction, this would raise their interest to go on that ride.

Of course, you would have to pay some money for this kind of advertisement.

In house marketing, I like it :D It would be a nice way to get your guests to move to different places in your park.

Also I'd like to see a queue times prop that you could place. It would show the guests the current ride queue times. Then like in real life you could see a surge of guests start heading toward the rides with shorter queues.

Really good idea, new rides are always busy! Though it may lead to more guest frustration (memories of a 5 hour queue for Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts). I think the queue line times could help with this management a bit.

Who needs celebrities when you have CheifBeef and Coaster King. ;-)
Love the idea though. Grand openings in real life would include the press - good reviews from the press would increase attendance due to the good publicity. Great as part of the simulation. :)

This is a great idea, i just hated how rides in rct3 autimaticly had a price to enter. I hope in Planet Coaster the rides are free and the entrance price is realistic, like $50-$100

RCT 1 or RCT 2 had something similar where you could throw tv/radio campaigns. So, they could actually add something like what you mention. I like it.
