graphic card not detected

I used to play with a geforce 960 but recently upgraded to a 1650. the game sees my grphics card as a geforce 470..anyone know why?? i am using kubuntu20.10 and i know its not supported by Frontier, just wondering if anyone has a workaround.

unless you brought your card from some dodgy site like Wish and your card really is 470 the issue is most likely to be driver related. from my limited experience getting linux working there tends to be an excessive number of GPU drivers to choose from if the driver from nvida arent working

Can you provide a photo (physical photo of the hardware piece, not a screenshot) of your gpu? It's possible you might have been scammed if you bought it from some non-retail source.

Check lspci to verify the pci vendor and device id under Linux

sorry that was a question dxdiag is not supported on Linux ect but there are tools to find things related to your system ie gpu type ect
try code sudo lshw -html > ~/hardwarespecs.html possibly

its a geforce 1650.. i bought it from new and i wasnt scammed every other game reports it as a 1650 except E.D. i probably need to do a reinstall for it to see the graphics card again

what's the performance? while it is possible that the game downgrades/removes some detail depending on listed driver/card capabilities, the general performance should tell you if the card is working as expected, one is more than double than the other. do you miss anything?

since you are running in emulation it is quite possible that the game gets fooled by this when trying to identify hardware.

i havent run it in emulation... i get better performance than the 960 in all games.. and in ED i was just curious why it reported it wrong.. but it doesnt matter ignore this post..its obvious no one knows
