Graphics settings profiles when switching between Horizons and Odyssey

I'm aware Odyssey for me will require very different graphics settings so I'm wondering what happens when I switch between game modes. If I boot up EDO for first time, setup all my new graphics settings and then jump back to EDH at some point, will the new graphics settings transfer across or will they remain as they were in my old EDH game?

To help with context, in EDH I have supersampling at 1.75x to combat the awful anti-aliasing in ED. I'm fairly confident I wont be able to get away with this in EDO because its more graphically demanding, so if i turn SS down to 1.0x in EDO, will I then be back at 1.0x when I boot up EDH again in the future? My plan is to switch between the game modes a lot because my friend still uses EDH but I would like to try EDO when I'm playing without him. Would prefer not to have to edit my graphics settings everytime I switch!

Make sure you have both games on custom graphics setting. Then it will read from the folder in appdata/local on a per game basis.

Just make a small change from any of the desired settings like bloom from high settings or something to create a proper custom file. Do that for both games.

I was running high settings from ED:H and everytime i switched to ED:O stuff got messed up.
This was my solution

Thats promising then. So once I create custom edits in EDO, that will be saved separately from my EDH settings and I should be able to switch between them without too much issue?

Make sure you have both games on a custom graphics quality profile. If one of them is on a preset like medium or high then things will mess up.

Also display resolution is a seperate file shared by both. Horizons i can run native resolution but odyssey i need to turn it down everytime and vice versa

You having to turn it down because of low fps compared to Horizons?

Yes, sadly.
60+ in horizons 1440p in station docked. Odyssey would give me 19. So i tuned it down to 1080p render resolution.
Acceptable, for now, 30 to 38 fps docked. Depends on station.
As long as there is nothing related to odyssey in view, fps is good, nearly horizons. But stations, under 3km planet surface and most settlements something is not up to snuff.

Thats tough buddy. This is another reason I've been holding off playing Odyssey and why I dont want anything to change with my Horizons game, just incase I need to return to it.
