You can also use ED Profiler to unlock the Model Draw Distance and set to it to maximum (or you can edit the file manually).
Have you tried increasing the Super Sampling?
If you are new to 21:9 I would recommend changing your FOV to somewhere in the 65-75 range (mine is currently set to 68).
EDIT: Missed the SS question. I don't know enough about it to mess with it, so it is set to whatever default is more than likely.
Galaxy and System map interface not correctly displaying on ultra-wide screens
Your 1080ti might be able to cope with 2.0. I have a 1080 and sometimes have it set to 1.5, but to be honest I didn't notice a significant difference even going from 1.0 to 2.0. If you are an explorer and spend time looking at planets etc. then the difference might be more noticeable, but it uses a lot of GPU grunt. As is always the case with these things you need to find settings that work best for you. Whilst I'm a pixel junkie, I also like a GPU that runs cool.
Re your question re the system map, this is a bug since day 1. Thankfully it's on the Known Issues List so perhaps one day it will get fixed![]()
Use search/find or scroll down to the <Environment> section, and modify the ultra preset for the GalaxyBackground. By default it’s using the same level as the High preset so we’ll bump this one by a single value.
A good reference, but there is at least one mistake in this article...
The reason it's using the same level as high is because that's the highest level for the GalaxyBackground. There are only three internal presets in the configuration file, corresponding to 0, 1, and 2. Changing this value from 2 to 3 doesn't do anything.
Also, jacking up texture qualities too far will significantly increase texture popping and loading times. I'd personally recommend sticking to 4k textures, unless you are taking screenshots, even with a high-end system and lots of VRAM.
