Graphics Vs Simulation Detached

I will start by saying I think this game is extremely shallow, repetitive and boring.. certainly not seeing this:

"Control the big picture with deep management tools"
"Bioengineer dinosaurs that think, feel and react intelligently to the world around them." ?? Really??

Are they coming soon or something?

Anyway... when playing, why on earth do I get notificaitos of things like "Dead dinosaur" when the dino is at >20% health and still in a fight.
Yeah, it turns out it dies in about 20 seconds... but the game already pre-determined that and showed me, before the graphics / animation system caught up.. it seems very amateur, almost like a f2p mobile game with fancy graphics bolted on later.

A storm... nothing happens during it, then the weather clears, everything seems fine, you let the guests out and.... "Notification" a fence was damaged in the storm. Erm... no it wasn't. It was damaged after the storm, in the sunny weather...clearly some form of detachment between the presentation layer and the backend systems.

After loving Planet Coaster... this game is just one huge disappointment for me. Too late for a refund too, so I hope it eventually morphs into a game like it is being described as :(

Never noticed any of these issues. Works fine for me. Maybe you should bug report.

Its not every time, I admit... it happens enough for me to notice though.
As for reporting a bug, well.. I posted here and that's enough for me. I probably won't be sticking around anyway.
Maybe I will revisit in a few months after the gameplay part gets added. It's aesthetically pleasing, but that is all.

I don't have any of the issues you're describing. I also suggest you submit a bug report. A fence doesn't just randomly get destroyed or get a dead dinosaur notification if the dinosaur is still alive. Those are bug issues it seems or, if you're on PC, maybe something wrong with that?

are you playing the same game we are?

I'm not seeing any of that either.

If anything, my game waits too long before telling me there's a dead dino, it'll lay on the ground for a minute or so before the game pronounces it dead.

And the storms don't damage the fences so much as the dinos do afterwards. they don't like storms and it takes them a couple of minutes to recover their comfort level, during which they will continue to attack fences. I usually find that the raptors will almost always escape a minute or two after a storm has passed, if they don't break out during the storm.

Well... that kinda confirms that something is wrong.

If yours takes too long and mine is too quick... there is a detachment issue, for sure.
I literally watched a fight and it told me about 20 seconds before that the dino had died, most of the time its close, as in a few seconds, but before the 'kill animation'

As for the fence damage... The storm comes, goes... I check everything, all good... release the guests and almost immediately following that, a fence will break when there is nothing next to it but a tree. If I bother to persist trying to find a game in this title, then I might record it, but I'm not feeling it.

Also, just because one or one hundred people never see something, doesn't mean it isn't happening.
Personally, I think there is something wrong with the in-game timing / triggering going on. I have seen similar before in other games, but I am not a game dev, so don't know the technical terms for it... Some games suffer from various timing issues which is why devs lock frame rates etc, perhaps technically different, but similar results... and something like that is going on here, IMO.

For what its worth, my system is an i7 6700k, 32g Ram, 1080ti gpu, running on SSD.

Anyway, I'm a Frontier fan... but they dropped the ball on this product, imo.

Meanwhile, I haven't encountered any of these bugs in my playthrough. At least, not any that stood out from the normal issues most people are having.

Either way, it's something to report in in the bugs section of the forums. Even better if you get a recording of the bugs.

I haven't found the game to be shallow. It's got a good amount of management depth to it. I think Frontier hit it right on the mark with the management. I don't know what you expect? Do you want a spread sheet simulator? I even found the management of shops and restaurants to be interesting.

I haven't experienced any bugs. But I did have this issue while playing on Muerta last night with one of my ranger teams, I told them to go refill some feeders and they wouldn't. It said the path was blocked. So I removed the one tree and they still wouldn't go and complete the task I have given them. I had to drive the jeep and do it myself. It seems like some kind of pathing issue. Like they have predetermined paths and if you block the path then they don't move.
