Been awhile since I posted here as nearly all the stuff I have requested have been added (except space legs)
This one is because a use in Facebook Elite Dangerous Mobius forum noted his beloved Copilot 'Muffin' passed away and the user was understandably shattered... this was his post:
"It's with much sadness that, tonight, I had to say goodbye to my copilot, Muffin. She used to sit on the stool next to me while I was playing Elite. She will be missed.."
So several users noted their own losses and I believe there are a actual players that have left us, also some of us realize we may have someone they want immortalized in a game.
Proposal:
-Players can be changed £5 for a grave marker.
-A limit of 5 Grave markers per player, to limit abuse (5 isn't arbitrary, I recently had a friend lost his family)
-This can have a name added to them, and refer to the pilot placing the marker. It can be read as a data link.
-A grave marker is a permanent effect, in other words if I place one then stop playing that grave will stay and others can see it.
-A grave marker once places stays there. Can't be moved. It will appear as a Galnet news footnote.
-This grave marker can ONLY be used on a minor location, such as a moon with no major ruin or population, but a marker buoy can be detected in a system scan. (see below under Option)
Option ideas:
-A grave marker can be for a selectable of pilot/copilot/family/friend and each will have a different epitaph. (I can write those out if you like). Very immersive.
-Instead of 'Somewhere, someplace' there for be a moon called "Necropolis" in the bubble that you can put your Grave Marker on, that saves where they bodies are found. If this option is chosen there is NO need for a space buoy.
