I haven't read the article but I feel game AI isnt what it could be. I remember half life all those years ago and the AI being very clever. It seems to me that developers cant introduce better AI due to mass customer expectations and ability. Theres a lot to balance in this I suppose also where you are usually a single player playing against many AI.
