Well some of the journeys here made me feel my trip was so inadequate it almost put me off posting a link to my: 1st great exploration story! :)

I play a little and often so was out for 3 months. A tl;dr summary:

Shinrarta Dezhra to Elephant's Trunk Nebular with some diversions
Cobra MkIII
About 6000ly round trip
Travelled exclusively by economical jumps because of my tiny fuel scoop :)
About 800+ system scans and 3000+ detailed scans
24 million credits
from 64% Scout to 15% Ranger

It was fun but glad (at the moment) to be back. After a little break I think I'll be doing some trading, missions and possibly a bit of power play for a bit.

Nice trip, but we'll be seeing you out there again soon. Exploring is an itch that you have to scratch. I think your next trip should be Sagittarius A. I'm almost there myself and there are literally thousands of Neutron stars to explore that have not been discovered by anyone.

Big numbers aren't the only measurement.
You covered 6000ly in a Cobra using economical jumps. That is one hell of an achievement!

That's a truly great adventure. Very disciplined, full of wonder, great pics, and of course a very tidy data value for all of that. Definitely inspirational for anyone still new to exploring, and for those who want to give it another shot.

I wouldn't call 6000LY a small distance to cover, though. It's still pretty big territory!

thanks all :) will definitely visit Sag A* at one point. Love reading about other people's trips which inspired me to head out finally.

Next trip out I'll probably get an Asp and fast jump somewhere truly remote

Size isnt everything.....an exploration trip is an exploration trip, be it 10Ly or 1MLy. I will be out again once I have got my cash from Lembava, probably only about 1,000 systems this time, but it will be in a DBE, and armed.

I short thorough trip is more or less the same as a long quick trip. The main thing is that you saw stuff and brought back screenies, map data, and stories!!!
