Alpha 4 will be here on May 15. Then the Premium beta on the 30th. At least now we know. I'm a bit sceptical that they can release alpha 4 on this date and then the Premium beta just 15 days later. That doesn't seem terribly long to work on any major problems that come up and I am willing to bet that there will be at least a couple.

Alpha 3 had two updates within a week; it makes sense for Beta 1 to be Alpha 4.1 or 4.2

I had some second thoughts however when the stream was announced. but still.
the Beta has to be very similar to what we will have in mid may, it is the 2-weeks-early beta release to alpha backers after all, if we have had alpha today it would have to be very similar as well, as we couldnt have so little time to test before a significant change. and that would have meant virtually one month of early beta. Some beta backers may not haved liked that i think.
