Great Player Interaction! (Pirate)

So, I am a pirate, but I like to think of myself as a gentlemanly pirate. I never shoot first, and I only ask for a taste of what's in the cargo hold (why can't we both profit?) I just had the best interaction of my life in this game.

I interdicted a Lakon 7, hailed, and was pleasantly surprised when the chap on the other end answered. We negotiated for a drop of 25%. As a small token of my appreciation for such a smooth transaction I dropped a rare that I had gotten from a... less than friendly interaction. He began asking about pirating, and how I was enjoying it. We ended up friend listing each other, he sold his Lakon for a fairly equipped Cobra, and we went about making 'deals' with other traders. Now we've been doing this over the week of Christmas and have become fast friends. We've even had a few other traders join our merry band of pirates. If you're ever 'pulled over' by a Black Hole Buccaneer, know that you will be treated fairly! Yo ho ho!

This is why Open Play is so great. +1

Also, they have bleaching now for that black hole problem.

Great story....my Lakon sadly hasn't seen a player pirate yet.

I always smile when reading these "oh this was so awesome" threads. Glad you enjoy the game as much as I do.

Gentlepirate or not, if I catch you in my scanner you are toast.......

Great post BTW +1

well played. here as of late i have not been interdicted in some time while trading. neither NPC nor commanders. :(

maybe because i use a python to trade, there are probably easier pickens out there :p

have some rep for the general conduct you display during... trade negotiations :D

This is exactly what we need, more people playing in the true spirit of what the Elite Universe is all about, not hiding away in solo (Bubble Wrap) mode and racking up a huge and pointless pile of cash......

hahaha :D that is awesome.

I'm thinking going pirate too, once I have good enough ship and enough savings for couple rebuys of that ship ;) Yarrrrr

Being friendly sure is good.
Yesterday I interdicted a cobra in my viper, and we just scanned each other... the guy then said "ok you're clear". I lol'd and asked if he wanted to duel.
He said yes and I gave him the first shot. I took him down to 40% and waited for him to give up.
Wished a nice day, and off we went.

Something like this is a lot more fun than simply shooting at everyone.
