Great Player Interaction! (Pirate)

Being friendly sure is good.
Yesterday I interdicted a cobra in my viper, and we just scanned each other... the guy then said "ok you're clear". I lol'd and asked if he wanted to duel.
He said yes and I gave him the first shot. I took him down to 40% and waited for him to give up.
Wished a nice day, and off we went.

Something like this is a lot more fun than simply shooting at everyone.

Hear hear. Ship destruction isn't always necessary for a quality PvP encounter.

So, I am a pirate, but I like to think of myself as a gentlemanly pirate. I never shoot first, and I only ask for a taste of what's in the cargo hold (why can't we both profit?) I just had the best interaction of my life in this game.

I interdicted a Lakon 7, hailed, and was pleasantly surprised when the chap on the other end answered. We negotiated for a drop of 25%. As a small token of my appreciation for such a smooth transaction I dropped a rare that I had gotten from a... less than friendly interaction. He began asking about pirating, and how I was enjoying it. We ended up friend listing each other, he sold his Lakon for a fairly equipped Cobra, and we went about making 'deals' with other traders. Now we've been doing this over the week of Christmas and have become fast friends. We've even had a few other traders join our merry band of pirates. If you're ever 'pulled over' by a Black Hole Buccaneer, know that you will be treated fairly! Yo ho ho!

E:D for life!

What you just did is not pirating, but some lame pseudo-honorable way of pan-handling. Pirates don't ask, demand, or beg. Pirates take.

Stop beggin, it's a pathetic gesture.

Good story. I wish more people actually reponded to hail message. Can't blame them though, the communication interface is sorta lackluster. Also some prebinded hail messages would be cool since victims sometimes tend to panick and typing message can even cost you a ship.

Agree'd. A lot of the fights or people running and getting their cargo hold pierced I attribute to the communications system. The number of clicks to get to the interface is pretty insane. I hope they get that sorted.

yeah just dont be like the dude that interdicted me. "submit to scan or be doomed. nothing found go on your way" i was like... so rude. so i destroyed his ship... well guess he was mad couse he was waiting for me at the station, shot me in a no fire zone and the station destroyed his ship again again lolol.
