I got E
back in January and played for a bit, but I didn't have anybody to play with and soloing in a game this huge is tough... so the amount of time I devoted to it pretty quickly dwindled. That all changed this week. Thanks to a Steam sale, I have a couple friends who are getting into the game and had taken it upon themselves to get me back in. Within a couple days I was feeling the pull of the cockpit and was longing to get out into the stars.
I logged back in and tried to make the best of the loadout I had last used (Sidewinder and fuel scoop I was using to wander around on my own) but it was pretty clear that wasn't going to fit into my new gameplay plans. I pretty quickly just tossed my ship into a sun and started fresh.
I couldn't believe my eyes, I loaded up the boards of my starting station to look for a mission to start raising some money, expecting to see some super basic stuff... there it was: a slave trader wanted somebody to transport 4 slaves and was going to pay 77k credits for it. Within 45 minutes I had gone from a new ship to being well on my way to an upgrade.
I had forgotten how a little bit of luck can completely change how this game plays. I could have traded for a few hours or made some runs to save up, but now I've got a quick start and am excited to get back into things to see what sort of trouble I can get myself into next time.
