I thought a poll for the greatest version of Elite, Frontier & FFE might be in order.

I'm predicting a close run between FE2 and FFE, with Acorn Elite getting a few nostalgic votes

Arch Elite was pretty cool but there was something about it that felt a little claustrophobic. I went with (predictably) E2.

As much as I love all 3 versions, I did go for FFE probably because I liked the graphics gritty feel.

When E2 came out I was gobsmacked there was nothing out there to compare.

I think FFE looked more real.

i came to the Eilte seires very late so ended up playing them in reverse order
FFE then E2 and lastly elite and i can"t pick between FFE or the original

FFE maybe just becuase nothing compaires to taking down a IE with some pertetic excuce for a laser (1mw beam) you can buy things that powerful on Ebay.

I first played Elite on my Amiga, and it had a depth and addictiveness that's never been equalled with any other versions. Was probably my age...I was easily influenced.

But as that option isn't there, and as FE2 is the only other version I've really played, there's no point me voting.

I generally flip-flop between FE2 and FFE all the time.

Actually, if I was allowed another vote, I would go for NES Elite. Great fun to play, once you've got the hang of the controls.
