Greatly reduced asteroid density in rings

Is this part of the recent X-Box optimizations, that rings no longer look like rings but rather a small collection of sparsely scattered asteroids? When I played this game a few months ago, I would hit resource extraction sites and the ones around planets were always especially dense so that when viewed at a distance, they actually looked like rings. I couldn't fly for 5 seconds without hitting one unless I was pulling at a vertical axis to escape the ring. Now I drop into a resource point around Jupiter and see.....nothing. If I'm lucky I'll reach the extraction point and find 3 clusters of about 5 rocks each up against the shadow of Jupiter. What happened?

Don't know. Mostly there were many but now it seems to have been decreased somewhat.
Even seed a vid where someone discovered an asteroid belt with no rocks at all.
Just completely empty space but still being mass locked, by nothing.
Maybe they've changed it to reflect the quantity.
In that vid, it was a depleted system but that doesn't explain the mass lock.

Well maybe they have been mined out, all those miners destroying perfectly good asteroids and those things don't grow on trees ya know :D

Jupiter rings has been mined out thats why. (lore wise we are in the year 3301 and the resources in our solar system has mostly been depleted)
go out on the rim to some low populated area and you will find that the rings looks the same as usual

I find pristine rings are really full, but the system map asteroids belts have hardly any (and keep disappearing and reappearing!)
