Green blob became blue blob, bugged route plotter and failed saved key binds

Well, feel like I can't be any worse than everybody else so I'll start yet another thread on the release. Mostly I'm just curious if anyone else here have experienced the same issues.

1. Scanning planets give you an indication where geo or bio sites could be. In alpha we where supposed to get different shades of blue indicating concentration of them. However some bug in many cases just gave a big green blob. Now I get the blue but so far I haven't seen any difference in how blue it is. It's basically just one shade.

2. Route plotter seem to be broken if you target another body. I scanned a planet, landed, did my stuff, and left. However the next jump target was now gone. The system menu tells the name of next jump. But it can't be selected in the actual system menu.

3. Anyone else having problem with that changes in key bindings won't save after you logged out and logged back in? This was also an issue in alpha.

I can confirm I'm having a similar issue to you with 1. It seems like all the lower elevations are blue, and the high are grey, and that's it - geo/bio site locations aren't shown.

I've had the exact same issues and it was also prevalent in the alpha.

Same.

It does sometimes make it look like there's a lake in a crater though. So we got water worlds? :D

1. After you have 100% mapped the body in DSS - remain in that screen: at the top you will see 'change filter' (default are Q / E keys) - When you finish with DSS - it is set to 'ALL' - so you see the 'green blob' - but it should change as you cycle the filters

My issue is that simply landing ANYWHERE on a planet - the amount of RAW surface materials for prospecting / reloading FSD 'Jumponium' / SRV Refuel etc - seems to be a fraction of what it is in Horizons...

On the route plotter:
Press the "target next system in route" button.
Controls -> ship controls -> targeting.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me - I can change the filters, but the DSS display stays exactly the same.

I saw your first comment - it is also true that the 'targetable' bio-/geo- sites are no longer present: so the DSS 'blobbery' gives indications of "higher chance of signals present" - but you still have to search when down planetside...

I've make 3-4 planetary landings - and found exactly ONE (1) geo formation (some type of fumarole)...In those 3-4 planet drops - I have found 3-5 total ground targets for material collection / prospecting...If this doesn't get changed - I believe 'Deep Space' / remote edges of the galaxy will become effectively unexplorable (I am at the 'bottom' of a sector at the moment - have been using BASIC FSD Synthesis for @ 80% of my jumps (in a 73-76 Ly Conda)...Basically once my reserves are depleted - I simply won't be able to go into sparse regions any longer....

(Edit: I believe I read a squadron member also reported that Crystalline Shard sites still have the phyical formations - but only a small fraction produce the raw material)

(Edit 2: I also forgot to mention: I think when a planet says ' 3 biological signal detected ' - this means three SPECIES [or perhaps classes?] of formations are present - not that there are three specific sites to visit.....This ENTIRELY changes exploration...[for those of you shrugging: I am out in Flyoo Prao sector - so 48 kLy from Sol - 27 kLy from Sgr A* / XA - and of course your basic flight suit has no xeno-scanner capability....No discoveries from me then  ])

Oh man, I see what you mean. I was thinking it was just a graphics issue, but if you're right that's much more serious.

I was able to get around one of the planets near the Guardian ruins sites and it had Brain Trees on them. I found that the Brain Trees are scattered across the whole planet... so although the 'blob' looks bugged, the reality is there is a lower concentration in the light colors, higher in the darker ones.

I also found some crystalline shards, they seemed to drop materials, but didn't pay much attention to how much they dropped.

Hmm, I don't have shades, just solid blue and solid grey. Let me see if I can find a planet for some screenshots.

I definitely had variation. Some locations were 'black' or 'navy blue'. I'm not in game now, but will try to show you later if I can.
Great, thanks - I'm tending back towards graphics problem then, at least for me. If you could upload a picture of what you can see at some point I'd really appreciate it, thank you for the offer!

Thanks this works fine with one exception. The plotter calculate a jump thats just a bit more than what I can do. It seem to only take consideration of max jump range (fuel tank running on fumes) and not the current one.

Edit: Hmm. The problem seems to occur when you don' check any of the "economical/fastest route" boxes.

It seems that there no longer is a heat map.

Detailed surface scanner just show plain blue colour, no different shades

Greetings Cmdr, This is working as expected - the blue areas highlight locations where organic life is supported on this planet. There is no longer a "heat map" as this was causing some confusion. Hope this helps! QA-Jack o7
