The last time I played Elite was over 30 years ago. Many long nights and quite a few ship stains on the side of docking stations. And some fond memories of surviving encounters that I shouldn't have! I'm going to read up for a while to see what the new century has brought to this grand old game, just thought I'd say hello, see you in the universe.

Docking is still interesting at first but once you get the right technique it is so much easier than in older versions. We still lose encounters we shouldn't (far too often) and win survive to our great elation other impossible ones.

There are huge difficulties and frustrations, especially for the impatient, but the sheer magic and beauty you can encounter makes it worthwhile.
