Newcomer / Intro Greetings Commanders......

Played Elite was back in 1984 with my brother on a BBC B+ (that's 64k!). He ended up being a games programmer and working on one of the most successful games of all time. Without Elite, it might not have happened! I dont even have a copy of the game yet as I dont have a PC to run it on but i played it last night on my borthers PC. It was like the old days :) . But soonI will get myself a new PC, just to play this...... Enjoying reading the forums. Can't wait to join in.

Continue reading the issues on the forum as there are alot of issues with the game right now. Some key components are either broken or nerfed. You may want to do this before shelling out all that cash for a new pc just to play this game. ED is not worth such an expense imo.

Thanks. Ive already played it. Im happy with how it is knowing that it will get better over time. I played the original with nothing more than trading for years. Im boring like that :)

There's so much scope for where it can go, I think it just needs some time and with peoples imaginations im sure all sorts of stuff we've not even thought of will happen.

It seems that this game is not what some people have been expecting. However, I see the problem in expectations, not in the game. It seems as a persistent and consistent long-term endeavour. Whoever isn't prepared to commit may get very disappointed. (I'm in the same boat, BTW, paid at the Kickstarter long ago knowing I may have to invest into a new computer; however, even if I never do it, it was worth playing those old games and, if nothing, I consider those 20 quid a compensation for playing them for free)
