Newcomer / Intro Greetings fellow explorers and a question on my machine specs

Hello there space farers:

I am very interested in this space sim, and admittedly are a bit late on the bandwagon. I am wondering if I may get away with my current machine. It will not be replaced for some time yet.

Intel Core Duo E6850 3Ghz
AMD Saphhire HD 7970
8GB RAM
Windows 7 64bit

I guess it is a hit or miss type scenario, but if someone are running it on similar specs I would be happy to hear how it is working out for you.

The graphics card is fine. The minimum is a GTX285 or equivalent and you are well over that.

The CPU is weaker than my ancient 870 but not by a lot and I get 60FPS in space and around 35-40 in stations. I have heard of others playing on dual cores so you might not be able to play at 1920x1200 like I am but I think you should get reasonable performance.

I will only be playing at 1680 x 1050.

Hopefully my old machine will be able to handle it ok.
