Newcomer / Intro Greetings

Hello There.

I haven't played ED for many many many years....The reason wasn't because I disliked the game. Other things came up that stopped me playing.

Unfortunately I have forgotten EVERYTHING about the game and my keybinds etc.... so it will be fun learning those again, especially when I have the memory of a goldfish!

I'm watching a fair few bits on youtube, and will be looking to earn some money for the ships and builds I want in the game.

I have no interest in using an SRV or walking about ( I want to fly ships...that's what I love aboot the game ) but I'm aware this would effect me for some mission types, or materials I may need?

Anyway...I'm currently building myself a mini cockpit to use my HOTAS so will be returning once all that is set up )

The only other worry, is my laptop is 10 yrs old now. It ran fine last time I played, which I think was 2018 ish. So fingers crossed.

I'm excited to get going again )

All the very best.

You can only take on-foot missions on foot from the station concourse.

If you only plan to do ship gameplay, your laptop should be fine, provided you have a minimum of 8GB of VRAM on the graphics processor. Should.

How well a 10 year old laptop will do is going to depend somewhat on your definition of Fine, but unless it was seriously cutting edge back then you are probably going to have performance issues in graphically busy locations and might well have to dial back the graphics settings.

My original laptop is eight years old but wasn’t cutting edge graphics wise and I upgraded two years ago, it was OK in space but planets particularly but stations and clouds would really kill the frame rate.
