Grid size/height need to save settings between selections

I am currently working on a new building, which does not conform to the nice 4x4 grid. To get the structure to work, I need the grid size to be 1 and the grid height to be 0.25. Easy, there is a slider for those. Yeap great!

Except everytime I select a new group to work on (the building has odd angles so there are multiple groups), I have to go change the grid height from 4x4 (at one stage it was 4x0.5 not sure why, I have never changed it to 0.5 height, but returned to 4x4 when relaunching the game). Even when selecting a different piece of wall/floor/roof, within the same group I have to change the grid size/height. This is almost on every new piece selected and increases the frustration, and the clickity clickiness considerably. Edit your group, clickity click click through to select your new piece, click and slide on the grid size, click and slide on the grid height, place the piece, then repeat the process for all of the thousands of pieces that go into this building.

This is also sometimes happens with angle snap/snap distance and when advanced moving I have to routinely set the setting back to what I need, despite, having just set it on the last group (It doesn't always, haven't worked out why it sometimes keeps it and sometime resets back to default). Very annoying when I need to adjust the height of several individual pieces, when I have angle snap set, works multiple times then I go to move another piece and the angle snap has turned off, for whatever reason.

Other options keep the settings (e.g. path colour), even when exiting and restarting the game, some options seem to keep the setting for the current game session, yet it can't keep a setting when clicking between 2 pieces of scenery.

Can this be changed to keep the settings (at least for the session, if it resets after restart/load, then I can live with that) or keep the setting changes (like path colours) and provide a "reset to default" button (my preferred option). Any screen which allows you to change settings, should keep previously changed settings and have a "reset to default button" in my opinion.

If nothing else, how about a bit of consistency with your options, some options (like path colour) are changed for good, some don't appear to change until restarting/loading, and some like grid size/height, almost never keep the settings. It doesn't even seem to follow any sort of logic to which setting get kept/partially kept/not kept, almost like it was decided depending how the individual designers felt that day.

Edit: Typo and spelling fix
