Grief Revenge

They say revenge is best served cold... Well, I'd suggest best served running cold :D

Was flying towards Freeport and I noticed two 'griefers' hanging around outside the station and firing at people as they came out. It was the laser fire that drew my attention.

I slowed down and dropped in to quiet/cold running and eased in behind them...

Then opened up on them with both lasers and missiles!

One died before he knew what was happening and the second died soon after.

I need a stamp now to mark up two griefer kills on the side of my ship ;)

Nice work. I keep hoping I'll get a chance to dish out some vigilante justice.

Then I remember I decided to give the hauler a good run, and decide against it.

Until I pick up my cobra and join you, happy hunting!

Good work Sir. we traders salute you!!

What's to stop these idiots 'owning' a sector? They could all get together and completely control a station like the mafia. Something needs to be done.

Score 2 for the good guys!

I can't wait until comms are ready and we can all work together to obliterate station campers and other reprobates.

It's not possible to "own" a sector. Even now, the multiplayer mechanics split people up into different instances on different servers.

Once the final grouping systems are in place, it'll dilute things even further.

Awesome work. This is the way to deal with them. Not remove them from the game. There should be a thread where people name them. Then vigilante groups can go and find their camp spots, wait for them to do the wrong thing, then open fire. Love it.

Better than naming and shaming on forums, maybe an effective bounty system in the game, where we can see bounties in a system, their last presence, etc. Camping space stations may then be problematic, if it also sets up a beacon screaming "here I am, come collect my bounty!".

Of course, when the vipers come back to the game, station space law enforcement may also become somewhat more effective.

Love the idea of an effective bounty system, although there needs to be a fix for the cowards dropping the client...

Campers blockading Freeport - Griefing

Well done, unfortunately they have now incorporated another griefer in an Anaconda.
Their modus operandi seems to be that the 2 cobras are in station aggressively scanning ships trying to leave the dock. The Anaconda sits out station, probably just outside the no-fire zone which then targets the victim (usually something like a Sidewinder - big score idiots...) and brings all cannons to bear. The cobras can now pick up the vaporised ships cargo and dump it out for the anaconda to pick up (presumably).
This effectively blockades trade for Freeport Station. In the fictional world, I would imagine Freeport would either send out its police cruisers and/or enlist the aid of bounty hunters or Federation military to hunt them down.
Unfortunately the system has not the means to combat them at present (I have scanned them and they have 'clean' records so no reprisals) so I guess it means that Freeport citizens will just starve until an aid response can be incorporated. I fell victim to their attack having my drives crippled to 0% on the opening salvo. Limited my speed to 8km/hr in station and thrusters ineffective for landing/repairs. Required a reset to base Sidewinder.
