I have just driven my exploration DBX into a star, (harder than it sounds, the DBX can take SERIOUS heat) and wiped my save.

Then I started in my new Sidewinder with 1000 Cr about two hours ago, flying drunk (bottle of red and a few beers) in open, and I now have about 200k in my back pocket. I will upgrade when I can, trade this thing, run that mission, shoot that thing, whatever...

Why?

I just wonder how long a chap who enjoys the game (and is poor at pew pew, and does not understand Engineers) will last in OPEN. I've never been into grinding for anything, and will not do it. When I can afford another ship, I will buy one, until then I will fly my latest squeeze until I can afford my new latest squeeze. I will submit to gentleman/women pirates and fight to the death against people with small bits in their pants (this forum is HARSH with sweary words but you know who I mean)!

Good for you!

If you have no issue wiping your save, why not create a series?
Fly as far, fast and dangerous as you can, un engineered, and in CGs, in open...see how far you get!

Your challenge then becomes going further than you did last time.

Post results in your "series" forum page....may even become a sticky...who knows!

I have tons of money but i hate the engineer grind that the only thing that i really have engineered on my ships are increased fsd range XD.

I've wiped my save at least 10 times. I usually set myself the goal of being in an ASP in a month, using different money making methods. This time round I've discovered that crime (well, piracy) doesn't pay. I'll probably wipe again when the next update drops.

I would do a wipe often with a new CMDR account if FD would allow everyone just two save games protecting the main account. It would be great to start over going PvP only in a Sidewinder, going for that long range exploration trip to Sagittarius A* or advancing in the game using a totally different play style and ships I didn't use the first time. I just could not wipe my billions in assets after two years accumulating them.

Sure buy two copies of the game and you're all set but that will get expensive as there will not be any lifetime passes or Beta access without paying for it. Nor will special items like the Cobra Mk IV and limited gold/chrome paint jobs transfer over. That is a big price to pay when a single game save would resolve the issue. Still I'm going to do it when ED is released on the PS4. Even then I'll lose instancing as the PS4 and PC do not cross over. I won't really need Beta as it's on the main PC version. Thus a player's decision to purchase a second copy also ensures that there will never be a second save game option. Oh well.
