NO... BEER! Seriously. No legal drugs whatsoever. What will I take with me to Beagle?! Metals and biowaste, cause that's what they DO have. Man, what a disapointment. (huge overdramatization just to be a drama queen, but beer would be welcome)

Pretty sure the trip to Beagle and back won't leave any of us short on biowaste. It's a long way.

He he he, very true. We'll be able to crapform a planet or two on the other side of the galaxy with the biowaste at our disposal... And we'll leave the "Some things would be better left undiscovered" type of NSPs along the way, too.

I have a small complaint about the so called "newly built" station, why in all honesty does it look ready for the scrap yard?

explorers anchorage is supposed to be a "BRAND NEW" state of the art research station yet looks ready for the scrap heap, I know it's a copy and paste job but seriously would it be to much to ask that if the station is supposed to be BRAND NEW then it should look BRAND NEW. not the rusty landing pads, mouldy paint and broke lights, please FDev don't make all new stations look like they were bought from a used stations salesman.

for those who are lazy: if a station is built it should look brand new, not look like something bodged together in a scrap yard

Radiation levels are pretty harsh in the galactic centre though.

:D S

I disagree. This is the frontier. New stations back in the centre of the bubble should look polished and shiny, sure. But frontiers are not the places where you find luxury and comfort. The stations this far from civilisation should be all hardscrabble and make-do. Brief stops for explorers who've not spoken to another human in months, temporary homes for scientists who either lack the money or fame to get a cushy job in the bubble, or who just don't want that cushy job.

If anything, it should be even more basic and rough-hewn than it is now.

Also remember that it's still under construction. This is only phase-2, out of 5 phases that we'll see on the station.

Mmmmm Nope. New is new. No one mines 3 million tons of ore in a community goal and then builds their station out of used parts. I have no problem with it looking "unfinished" at this point, but everything should look state of the art, shiny, new, and preferably UNIQUE. For a one off community goal that Fdev has known about for months.... using stock parts is just lazy.

I'm with Acidburn on this one.

Have you ever seen a ship under construction? It looks like a giant rusted heap of junk before its painted and finished.

I'm waiting for the necessary "but rust can't form in absence of oxygen" post that I'm not going to publish. I love the rusty look, my my ships have raider pack for just such a feel.

Yup. But using it more as an illustration as things that are being constructed don't look like the final product. Not that I expect it to be a shiny new station. It's an industrial environment (Mining economy IIRC). I don't expect it to look like a tourism station. But someone always has to complain about something. Wouldn't be Elite if they didn't, I suppose.
