Gross / Horrible texture problems.

There have been so many times when I've wanted to make a custom scenario, or custom sandbox with many textures, and the inability to paint the outside area is incredibly frustrating, please fix this, and give us bigger paint brushes.

are you talking about the skirt? https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/30107-Scenario-Editor-Park-Skirts-!

look at the bug that was created with this latest update lol https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/30301-Swapping-backgrounds-messes-up-park-map

and give us bigger paint brushes.

yes terrain needs a lot of improvements too please [up] https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/30228-Important-Terrain-Improvements

But it's not a bug. It's a side effect from changing skirts.

And Yes terrain needs bigger brushes.

Well, they said it's performance friendly this way. I can understand why people want to change them though.

They said that its not possible to Edit the skirt because it would be too much to process the entire visible land as editable terrain. I know that the skirt is not editable like it was in rct3, but it would be nice if the new feature they added to swap skirts didn't cause the terrain to stick out so much. IMO all biomes should be of equal height around the edges, but its too late to go back and change that now. Some of the biomes are like wayyy high up compared to others, which seems really weird

this is not as intended, this is not due to performance, its due to the fact that the devs made some skirts without them all at the same height because they did not originally intend to allow the skirts to be changed. Many people wish we could make full ocean biomes, but this new feature we got is not helpful. Whats the point of swapping the skirt if it will look like that?

Actually it is due to the fact that people wanted to change the background.

But I agree. It needs a fix.

Are you aware of the fact that you could change the backgrounds in RCT3? I wonder if back then, prior to the release of RCT3, why the devs implemented that feature back then. I thought you said it was a performance issue, now your saying its the communities fault for requesting this? lol... Its just funny how his wasnt tested more thoroughly before it was released. If the devs thought about this ahead of time, they could have made every biome at the same height and there wouldnt be an issue, but sure we can say its our fault :)

No no, I was commenting on this statement of yours.

It was a community request to be able to change the backdrop, so they changed it, with this as a result.

Like you and me said, it happens because they added an option of changing skirt, however the skirt is uneditable because of performance reasons (not issues).

And Yes, they should have added a flat terrain as one of the options, but then people would have complains about that because of the uneditable skirt..

So how many skirts do we need?

Which brings me back to your original comment

semantics [big grin]

the side effect of uneven terrain is not "due to a performance issue" it was sloppy to have certain biomes at different heights

Actually it is due to the fact that people wanted to change the background.

yes its the communities fault lol

This is the more important question... In RCT3 we had like 15 backdrops, cityscape, ocean, space, jungle, volcanos, underwater, etc

In PC we dont have "backgrounds" we have skirts, which are very nicely detailed, but not as useful to us.

In RCT3 if you moved the terrain near the edge of the park border, the terrain outside of the park would conform with it. Now as you said before, it would not be performance friendly to edit the terrain outside of the park in PC. However, there are ways to fix that. Such as to make the parks bigger, expand the terrains and make sure to leave room between the park border and the skirt so that every biome is even around the edges. But I realize that will take a loooot of work from the devs :(

Personally, I think they should start from scratch. Give us a blank field with NO skirt, then start making new bigger better ones that are all of even height around the center. With No Skirt, people could create lots of cool things like Silvarrets Planet Coaster Space Coaster
