Ground Station Attack Boredom

I have been playing a ground station pretty much all day. I have seen one Basilisk that I took out two petals. After that it was gone and nowhere to be seen.
I had Hydras acting weird. one went under ground and then disappeared from the radar entirely.

I had some basilisk missions and when I look in the missions at the station they offer basilisk and Medusa. What is the point if they don't show up at all. All I had was Cyclops and scouts. That starts to get boring at some point.
Why is this programmed so bad that the fun just fades away from it? i understand this is a war and you just shoot every enemy you get, but where is the excitement of a Basilisk or a Medusa jumping in?

Anybody else getting bored with the same "problem"?

Funny thing, which I observed in omumba planetary port (but definetely don't claim, that it is true, because my sample was way to low).
In hzn for 90% of time (we are talking about 1 week) I seen just one, maybe 2 basils and 0 dusas.
In first 2 CZs in ody I seen few basilsand 2 dusas

I know it is inconsistent, but usually a basilisk pops up. I have to say that I was by myself, so the instance did not go as fast like it would with multiple CMDR. I do see that the amount of basilisk and certainly Medusa does not reflect the missions. Killing 5 Medusa mission is not gonna happen and you're more likely to run out of time.
It would definitely more fun if there is more of the basilisk and Medusa kind would pop up.

Indeed.
But I still think, that it was funny coincidence- hzn: more than 70 ceptor kills: 1, maybe 2 basils, 0 dusas.
2 CZs in same place, but in ody: few basils and even dusas :D
At least I hope, that it is concidence, not some frontier magic.

It is random with heavy weighting towards Cyclopses; but others do turn up. I get regular Basilisks (usually one or two per CZ), and yesterday the very first Interceptor that turned up after the Scout stage was a Medusa. If you want tougher enemies more reliably, I guess you have to go to higher threat NHSS, or go to very hard space CZs. Ground port CZs are meant to he easier, I guess.

The NHSS threat levels mean nothing, and the threat level for the CZs only determines how fast the progress bar moves / how many hydras turn up at the end.

Whoever implemented the AX missions seems unaware that every other type of mission practically always generates a related signal to allow the player to progress.

Yeah .. that seems to be the moment a Medusa is triggered. I had one this morning when i logged in and interceptors started coming.

Another thing that I noticed is being ignored. I had a hydra that I constantly had to chase and completely ignoring me sometimes. Sometimes are not responsive. I know there are "bugs" in the game, but become very annoying in some cases.
O well .. take it as it is. But there are times I wonder if I would have less problems in another game.

Can you elaborate on this?

Do you mean to say that the picking missions are determining the type of interceptors that spawn?

No, other missions that require you to kill something - such as ‘Kill XYZ faction pirates/Assassinate X pirate’ have an associated signal source for them.

The ‘Go kill this Thargoid’ ones of the war do not, so you’re subject to RNG whether you can actually complete them(unless it’s a Cyclops, the game spawns way too many of them imo… or you don’t follow the intended gameplay solution and go to one of the nebulas).

Which wouldn’t be an issue if war signals actually had corresponding spawns to their threat level, not two Cyclops and two Basilisks, or Medusa + Cyclops at threat 4. Or a Hydra at threat 6 with only four AX NPCs as your backup.

NHSS threat levels do mean things, but it seems the table for war-state NHSS are different from Nebula-NHSS.
AX weapons fire/ AX Ship Signatures / Combat Aftermath all can spawn various interceptors and AX ships, give those a chance if youre not having luck in CZ's?

That's exactly what I mean when I say they mean nothing, they don't correspond at all to what can spawn in (give no indication of the "threat level"). It's just RNG.

Hmmm ... Also finding out that just killing Cyclops is not filling the progress bar as fast. It is imperative to kill the scouts as well. Doing diligence I get teh bar filled much faster and hence get to play with the hydras.
