What is the go to tool to find out information on groups?

Normally I check Inara, google, and the groups area on here, then I ask on discord if anyone knows anyone in X. That sort of thing.

Now there are squadrons, so you can stalk them from within...

Which leads to the question: Will things occasionally be improved, to actually be in game? And related to that, are there any plans to ever complete the UI in the group finder tool (aka: OK button) to make it actually work?
