Group Question

Ive made a group in elite i noticed the player name is also the same name as the group.
Is there any way i can change the group name or would i be able to delete the player and the group will remain so i can join with my prefered name.

It's been awhile since I created a private group so I tried it again to check. I don't think so unless Frontier Support can change the name for you. Maybe they do this only for the large groups as in Mobius otherwise that would be the name of the CMDR in the game. Maybe Support or Moderators could advise in this thread. Good question.

Well, support can do anything (or so it seems at times), but requests out of the ordinary will require extraordinary reasons.

In most cases that I konow of, CMDRs who wanted a specific group independent of their commander ID sufficiently bad just coughed up the money for a second account (CMDR pack is currently on sale as part of the Oculus 1 year anniversary...). When that group became sufficiently large (Mobius, Fleetcomm), it got a life of its own (Mobius is two groups now, but CMDR Mobius is still around; Fleetcomm is currently handled by CMDR Grnbrg).
