Group switching

I realise you cannot switch back and forth between Iron man and normal.

But can you switch back and forth between Solo group (in multiplayer universe) and All player ?

I ask as sometimes I would like my son to have a go and he is trigger happy, so for that I would switch to Solo group. But when I play I may like to meet other commanders, not to try to fight them, but for team play or just to have more interest so it does not feel too alone. And then at other times I myself may just want to play Solo group. And when I am feeling braver and more sociable I can then switch back to all player. So basically switching back and forth between Solo and All player.

I would understand you may need to log out and back in again to switch, but I would with one commander be able to decide on each game sitting if to play Solo or All group and to be able to change it on each game sitting without having anouther commander and without restarting.

I did read the grouping ddf archive thread, but I did not see it explicitly said if one could freely switch back and forth between Solo and All player with the same commander.

Between modes (IM and Normal) as you said you can't.

Switching between solo / group / all is possible, likely at will, but exactly how I am unsure. (Maybe at logon / docked / something else)

However - just be wary though. If your son commits a crime (piracy or murder) then for a brief time afterwards he will appear in the ALL group - this is to allow player Bounty Hunters to find you and enact some justice.

Thanks for the info, I may need to get my son anouther subscription then. Unless you can have multiple commanders on one account...
