Groups within the Pilots Federation

I know we are not going to be getting factions, alliances etc, but we can "friend" other pilots, i was doing a little thinking that there are certain groups which would more likely suit being listed groups under the pilots federation.

For Example:
Mercs, Bounty Hunters

If a group of pilots was listed under the pilots federation the group could seek out jobs from it, of course the group accepts it then individial pilots would have to accept the job, so you don't lose control of your own character etc.

If they did this you could work it in with hiring or pulling in NPC pilots by reputation into your ranks.

This would mean escort missions, hunting mission, defence mission. I personally believe having wingmen is necessary as in big fights you don't want to get tailed out on your own.

Pirates seem to work mostly in groups so it makes sense that mercs and bounty hunters that counter them would have the option to be part of a group.

I doubt you would run the group as that would be loads of paper work.

But a merc or bounty hunter of high reputation may be in command of a fighter wing.

I'm surprised I haven't seen much recruiting on these forums, even if the in game scope for groups will be limited I expected people to still form them outside of the game (such as the great expedition). Maybe this will start happening closer to beta release?

I think its the fact that players could spawn anywhere basicly, the fact it takes lots of creds and fuel to reach destinations means it takes time.

Personally, id rather fly with a group of players it means you can watch out for each other.

I do hope you can mark "friended" pilots as different colours etc.

But as i want to play Merc/Bounty Hunter, i would rather be in a group when looking for a job, it makes you more likely to get it in my opinion if they are recruiting a group, i imagine if they had Merc Groups you could join, you would gain reputation.

Merc group idea, you pay a membership fee, and then have a contract which means you have to take a certain number of jobs per year ingame from them, they will take a % of the job as a "administration fee".

1:You get your pay and reputation increase maybe depending on actions, intercepting missiles from a transporter.

2:It could be that at high enough reputation that VIP's whom use the group you are a member of directly ask for you to be one of there escorts.

3:Merc's of high reputations could become commanders of a wing of NPC's etc

4: Private Hiring's you could make contacts by this with NPC's thus get job offers

5: The Higher the reputation the more you may be payed for example if you answered a distress call an elite pilot may get offered more to assist.



The Idea overall is that there could be companys, some would be closer to each faction, some independents.

For example a faction related merc group may fine you for assisting the other factions but you may get payed far more than say an Independent Merc that goes on odd jobs.
