GTX 1080 Graphics settings

Anyone running on high graphics with 60+ fps? I just got the GTX 1080 and on High graphics i'm experiencing a big frame rate drop, but on medium it's pretty smooth. Could this be because it's still in Alpha?

It very much so is because the game is in alpha, frame rates will always improve further along development. What cpu do you have? Simulation games like these are very cpu intensive as they have to calculate all the individual guests and things going on in the park. Some people have even complained about the fps with the latest 6-core cpu's.

I have a 1080. I've only built a park with 5 rides in it so far (1 hour of game time). The FPS appears to be OK so far, but I do have one issue discussed below.

My first complaint is the shadows that are super wavy, moving all over the place, and really distracting. Anyone else have this problem? They flutter around, like waves. I was trying to look at the guests walking around, and my eyes kept getting dragged to the shadows. At night it isn't eye catching, but if the sun is out things get crazy.

I'm on the newest Nvidia drivers, 2560x1600 screen resolution, High game settings.

I was going to post this in the Feedback or Technical sections, but I'm thinking of it now, so posting here. [mouth shut] I haven't figured out the screen recording yet, so mainly posting to see if I should screen capture it...

I have a 1080 as well. As a not so scientific benchmark, using the mount rushmore park, I get between 70fps to 100fps on High settings 1080p.

I noticed most parks were getting the around the same frame rate from a park with barely anything to a park with bunch a coasters and scenery, so my hunch was the graphic card is not being pushed to max and as everyone says it's CPU. So I cranked up all the Nvidia drivers settings for anti-aliasing, etc. and the frame rate remained the same, boosting the picture quality (looks so good). I have a i-7 6700K Quad core, overclocked to 4.5 GHZ as far as the CPU goes. Which is the fastest skylake processor you can get and it seems to get maxed out pretty easily with this game.

Running it at 4k on High Settings and it seems to run well enough, but I haven't used any FPS software yet. I am not that bothered with high frame rate in this type of game.

At the end of the day, we haven't had a update since Frontier has got a hold of their 1080, so give them time to optimise the game. There are always problems with high cards especially in the few months as often games haven't been tested on them fully.

I have an intel i7 6700, I should be good on the cpu. I did get the gtx 970 recently, I will upgrade it next year though, maybe.

Well, i actually have a gtx 1080 g1, and i'm not having any type of problems. I have high graphics and i'm running on more than 200fps. So, reinstall it or something, because for me, it performs very well.

The game is not about the GPU but about the CPU.

This, Heavily CPU based. Does not matter what GPU you have :D

My experience is that the game scales itself to use what is provided (within limits). I checked this morning and with monitoring software my Nvidia 1080 graphics card is being fully utilized (80 to 99%) usage. This is running the high profile in Planet Coaster. The GPU ram usage goes up 2GB when I play the game -- I'll check later if the GPU Ram goes up more with a full park.

The CPU certainly matters. This is a simulation game. It is simulating many many many many things all at once. An old slow CPU, or a new budget CPU, is not going to be able to handle it. My CPU is from 2010 and it is handling it well, but that said it was nearly the best one released that year and I'm heavily overclocking it.

Edit: I just download the save game file for Silvarret Grizzly Valley park. I'm seeing a consistent 21FPS, and it feels smooth. That park is very detailed, and it'll take me a while to get that good (if ever). So I'm confident that my system will be good for a long time.

Im sorry to say this but 200fps is very unbelievable.
As most have pointed out this game is very CPU demanding and even with the newest I7 most struggle to get above 60fps in average size parks.
I would love for you take make a video and prove me wrong tho!

I would love to see that too!

No alpha background [blah]

[big grin] Jion must have a 20GHz processor that he brought back from the future. One of the secret Intel ones from 2050. [haha]

I saw 1000FPS, but that was on a loading screen.[cool]

My pc specs:

Intel Core i7-6700K 4,2 GHz

32gb ram ddr4 2400Mhz

Gtx 1080 G1

It gives me 200fps more or less in game in complete world.

edit: after doing various benchmarks, i was wrong. It gives me 100 fps average. SRRY [ugh]

(1080p, high settings, v-sync on)

don't benchmark with v-sync on. no matter how many screen tears you'll get. it limits the absolute max fps you can get and adds input latency :(

Please dont be offended but i would like to see proof.
I have a very similar set up and get less than 20fps in my park as my CPU hits 100% all the time!
