A single 1080 is meant to be better than 2 x 980's (non-Ti) in SLI and it has a 180W TDP. Available at the end of the month.
I am very interested in some real gaming benchmarks and to see how Polaris stacks up against these too.
Dont forget this this is not the full implementation of the GP100 die, (the GTX1080 uses a GP104-400) ... So the "1080Ti", whenever it gets launched, should be even better.
