Guardan Blueprints vs Pattern Epsilon Obelisk Data

At least with the blueprints you have control over obtaining them. Certain ruins give you certain blueprints. You know (or will eventually know after the first attempt) what blueprint data you're going to get, and that you're going to get it after lighting up all the pylons. You have control.

Compare that to Pattern Epsilon Obelisk Data - 42 required to unlock the Guardian Power Plant. No control whatsoever.

You can scan an Obelisk, get whatever data, then relog, scan the same Obelisk and get something else entirely. Completely random results with no player agency whatsoever. No skill required. No knowledge of Guardian Lore required. No objects required in the SRV cargo hold required. Just a dice-roll.

Who thought this would be great game-play? [blah]

Probably FD thought people would do the Ram Tah missions, in which case you incidentally get loads of those scans without effort.

How could they know people would ignore gameplay and just grind on a single site?

Oh, wait .. I'll get my coat ;)

I've finished Ram Tah's mission and have nowhere near enough stuff to unlock all the Tech Broker modules. Let's not even talk about blueprints.

In the guardian structure with the weapon blueprint, there are four obelisks you can scan along the way through activating the pillars. Still only got half of the required epsilon patterns. So, yeah, it's just more going around in loops. Should rename them to Groundhog Structures.

Just scanned every obelisk I stumbled over while doing the blueprint-grind and found enough of everything...

If we do eventually get to unlock a Guardian space ship from the Tech Broker, I hope at least it will be a multi-role ship and not just another combat specific ship.

Yes, you can get those Epsilon ones from the Guardian Ruins as well as the sites.

But that Guardian power plant - do you really want it? Compare its stats with an engineered A-rated power plant before deciding to do all that scanning out in deep space. :)
