Guardian Point Defense are a modified and enhanced variant of the standard Point Defense Module. Using Guardian Technology, they are capable of dealing AX damage in the smallest package created to date.
Capable of shooting down incoming Thargon missiles, this module is not without its drawbacks. The guardian technology involved uses exorbitant amounts of power, rapidly draining SYS while activate. For this reason, rather than being a passive defense like standard Point Defense modules, they must be manually activated. However, in compensation for this, they are also capable of dealing small amounts of damage to small, nimble targets, like Thargoid Scouts, Swarms, and human fighters, and even small ships in emergency situations.
Due to the relatively limited power available to utilities, they are not as effective at destroying thargon swarms as Flak Cannons, but are capable of doing so, given sufficient time.
