Guardian Ships

I was thinking about elite, and think this would be a great idea. With all of the great guardian tech that's been added, it seems the next step would be Hybrid ships. They'd be full of guardian technology such as weapons, sheild or hull reinforcement, FSD boosters and power plants. To balance them with Human tech, they'd be as capable as G3 engineered versions of Human ships in terms of resistances and jump range etc, but the drawback would be that they can't be further modified, except for switching out weapons. Something the size of a wifey, with equivalent stats to a regular Courier, after engineering

I would rather see guardian ships, piloted by guardians that fled to the edges of the galaxy to escape their machines to lick their wounds, return. We have plenty of ships, give us story line and new game play. It's not a horrible idea though OP. Probably a lot easier than bringing the guardians back as well. Well, hybrid tech has been hinted at for years with Palin's missions, so you might get your wish eventually.

When the Krait2 was announced some people hoped/speculated it would be a guardian hybrid ship. Then the same for the Krait Phantom. I do like the guardian tech, and their amazing sound assets.

Have to agree with gorankar about guardian enemies, though. I'd much rather see guardian ships opposing us than in our hands.

I started playing Elite in 2.4, and it really seemed like the bubble would end up in a pincer between thargoids and guardians. It's a shame that never came to pass. It would have been a great way to bring story and action to human space.

I'm all for more guardian modules, giving synergies to bring them up to g5 specs with a full set.

With a ship the danger lies in balancing.
Make it not strong enough/flawed and no one will fly it,
Make it stronger and it's the new meta.
