Ships Guardian Site Dolphin avoiding Thargoids

Hello commanders o7

I have built a dolphin for guardian sites, which is of course nothing new. But since some which I heard of were hyperdicted from thargoids, I am wondering if this dolphin could survive an thargoid attack, because I've never encountered a thorgoid yet. So what I had with this dolphin in mind is to endure an thargoid attack long enough to high wake out, if it scans my cargo filled up with guardian goods.

So with that in mind I have put in 3A shields instead of 3D shields and I have a 3D Power distributor, instead of maybe a 2D or 1D for longer range. The pulse lasers are just for the guardian sties if needed, but I never used them actually. So I am thinking of taking them out. I've engineered the PP and Thrusters with low emissions and clean drives to stay below 20% heat, to make it harder to hit me.

Other than that could CRCR help not getting scanned at all from thargoids? I read somewhere, that thargoids cant scan your cargo, if you have CRCR. Is that true?

Here's the build and feel free to optimise ^^

Unless you want to look at the interceptor, as soon as you are hyperdicted, boost and FA off, you will drift during the power blackout and if you're far enough the Interceptor(s) will lose interest in you before scanning you and will high wake.

Keep in mind that, even if you have offending cargo, the interceptor will not attack instantly after the scan if you do not attack: it will give you a few seconds to jettison (which you won't do).
You might take that time to high wake.
Considering how cold your ship runs, the Interceptor would have a hard time hitting you at all.

In any case, I've only been destroyed during a hyperdiction incident once, because I hit the interceptor accidentally and I didn't have a clue as to what I was supposed to do then.

I cannot claim to be an expert, but the above is what I have learned from my encounters.
Others might have more (and better) insight.

Hey @HRDiagram

Thanks for the insight. So its good to know that my cool dolphin will give them a hard time hitting me. My Dolphin will boost 475 every 6,7 secs. Will that be enough or is it too much or too slow? Will a 3D shield be maybe enough rather than a 3A shield? Maybe I could still min max a couple of lightyears out by saving some weight with the distibutor and shield? With which ships did you manage to escape? Were they decked out or also maybe similar ships like my dolphin?

Cyclops, Medusa and Hydra will do 450m/s
Basilisk will do 530m/s

However, if you just FA-Off and boost a couple of time, you will manage to keep a decent distance from them so when you get your power back, they will have already hyperspace out

Even if you fail to do that (or if you fly a slow ship), as long as you dont carry any Thargoid or Guardian related cargo in your ship, they will scan you and hyperspace out.
No harm done, except for the wasted time.

And one last thing, if you never hyperspaced with a Thargoid Probe/Sensor in your cargo hold, you will never get flagged for hyperdiction by Thargoids

@Northpin Thanks cmdr o7

So, does that mean, I will never get hyperdicted, when I will transport guardian stuff?

Yeah, I heard of that, they will leave you alone, if you dont have guardian or thargoid stuff. But I just want to make sure, that when I will have an encounter with guardian stuff (there I will use the dolphin mostly), that I can safely escape.

Thargoids don't hang out where the Guardians are, so this is not an issue. Plus you don't need any Guardian cargo for ... basically anything apart from the Ram Tah missions & Guardian ruins.

Transporting guardian stuff does not refer to modules, only to cargo.

And when someone is visiting thargoid sites they do it for unlocks - to get blueprints and materials - or only for materials.
Picking up guardian stuff like tablets and urns and caskets and whatever is usually not very common, unless doing the Ram Tah quests.

Yes.
Not everyone is getting hyperdicted. Only the ones that met certain conditions.

And one last question:
Why the Dolphin?

Type-6 can also be a decent choice, trading up heat management (which is utterly broken on Dolphin, in a good way tho) with marvelous cockpit view for T6

The ground foot print is quite similar for both ships.
And they do have similar jump ranges and speeds, but T-6 has the potential for better cargo space if needed while Dolphin has better base shields value

Okay, that is good to know. Because then I dont need to actually worry about it.

Sorry to ask, but do you mean guardian mats aswell? Like guardian tech parts. As far as I know, only guardian stuff in your cargo like Guardian Urns, Tablets, Relics etc, freak the thargoids out. The guardian weapons and mats dont let them freak out.

Yes, thats what I also understood, that guardian mats and weapons dont make the thargoids agressive.

Since I am not yet fully done with unlocking all guardian stuff, I use the dolphin therefor and also collect relics and urns etc and store therm in my fleetcarrier, just in case I will need them for a CG-events or something new.

Good to know. So, that means, meeting the certain conditions would be if I only transport thargoid items in my cargo? Then I will get hyperdicted?

Because I thought a small ship is better to land at guardian sites. But i didnt knew, that the footprint of a ship is also important. I always thought, that landing at a guardian site it just depends if the ship is a size S, M or L. I use my T6 as a cold running shieldless long range hauler, to smuggle things. Maybe I should really reconsider the T6 and maybe then use the dolphin for smuggling and rare goods etc.

A little OT, but just for the background to understand me more: I know this sounds crazy, but I want to own every ship (yes also the asp scout) and give them a purpose.

Type-6 is a Medium pad ship only because it's like 1m (or even less) too tall for the small hangars.
Else, its foot print is quite similar to the DBX (same width, a bit longer than DBX) and comparable to Dolphin ( like 3-4m meter shorter, but like 6-7m wider)

And the foot print is what matters when landing not the hangar/pad landing size.

And if you also want to collect guardian cargo, the better cargo space of the T6 will help you in this endeavor
