Guardian sites should yield enough components for the blueprint they give in a single run

This seems like a no brainer to me we shouldn't have to make multiple runs through a guardian site and have to fight virtual armies of guardian sentinels just to get enough mats for one blueprint. What purpose does that serve? I've learned how to deal with the sentinels quite handily but its always a time sink especially with the rough terrain at these sites.

I remember reading somewhere that David Braben or somebody else high up in fdev wrote in a article that it was a mistake to make some elements of the game too much of a grind and this seems like a easy one to fix.

This used to be even more of a grind, when you needed 8 blueprints for 1 module instead of the 2-3 you need now. Some of us have done that rinse and repeat cycle a lot of times. I know I did it at least 24 times for 3 modules.
Kill sentinels, shoot pylons, shoot more sentinels, scan orb, log off, repeat.
Every 2.5 runs, synthesis some fuel and ammo.

It is meant to be immersive.

Damn lol glad I wasn't around when it was like that guess I can't complain then. I'm having no trouble making the runs it's just been a time sink especially trying to find tech components which seem to be a very rare drop. And having to log on and off and repeat isn't very immersive. If this was real life I wouldn't be revisiting the same alien base to get stuff I'd get everything in one go. Stuff wouldn't magically respawn either.

I'm getting it done now though since there's nothing much left for me to unlock in the game besides the imperial ships just feel that mat gathering could be better.

Just one blueprint per unlock since I've been playing.

What if the sentinels kept on spawning? A lot of the harder materials to find are the ones that drop from them. That and a guardian data trader would fix this for me. I finally gave in a few weeks ago and did the whole menu cycle in front of data obelisks thing. I hate being reduced to that to get my delta and epsilon data.

With how many runs we need for mats it actually wouldn't make a difference to me if we needed more fragments haha. I got my 8 weapon blueprints and was just about full on everything including the sentinel parts but only had 36 tech components. Had to make a additional 40x runs to fill up.

Got everything I need now to unlock all the slfs, fixed weapons, guardian module reinforcements and the shield booster. Like you I found epsilon data to be lacking I'll have to visit the data site(synuefe xr-h d11-102) on the way home and do a ton of runs since I need about 60 more units. Almost done though I just need 2 module fragments and that epsilon data and I'm good to go. If i ever get into pvp I'll come back to get stuff to unlock the turret variants.

This all could've been much worse though, what if they made us get all this stuff to make each weapon and module instead of them being unlocked for life. Before I got the fsd booster that's how I figured it worked lol.
