Guardian Tech broker Module: Guardian ammo Regenerator

After reading a post on the addition of a Ammo regenerating module (thanks to the poster for the inspiration!) I found for basic gameplay it may not be the answer, as we have synthesis already and ammo is usually quite cheap if needed (except for shock cannons..)

However the idea is certainly not void, As many are aware, Thargoid combat requires ALOT of synthesis on vessels such as the Basilisk and up, and with the addition of AX combat zones, synthesis will be needed more than ever. The thing is though, guardian weapons also require guardian materials to reload. of which they are not readily available as they are region specific. so the user will have to go out of their way to acquire these materials at some point.

To save this headache, a GAR (Guardian ammo regenerator) may be added to a ship that will gradually regenerate ammo over time, each ammo type will have a certain threshold per production cycle (for example, a plasma round may be produced at 20 per X time, Gauss 4 at X time, Shard at 6 at X time (just examples)). The size of the module will determine the time it takes to replenish ammo, for example a size 1 may take anywhere up to 7 minutes to regenerate just 4 Gauss rounds, a size 5 module may be able to restore the same amount every 2 or so minutes. The GAR can be applied through the military compartment or basic optional outfitting. making it somewhat flexible.

This would mean that users would effectively not have to worry about synthesizing again, unless they are considering premium ammo. and would allow almost indefinite presence in AXCZ scenarios.

Thoughts on this?

personal it would be a bit weird having the advanced, rare, unique weapons capable of regenning ammo, but not the things which ammo can definitely be crafted for on the ship.
If you're accepting regen is kind of "needed" for long term anti xeno content it also feels like you cant have the smaller module be so much weaker, as that functionally excludes lighter/smaller ships from the consideration entirely

Players go out of their way to aquire the resources necessary to unlock the Guardian weapons, either they collect more while there, or they have to make the trip a few times (to unlock additional modules as well).
The more powerful Thargoids are not expected to be defeated solo (even if it is possible), ammo snythesis is probably not expected to be used multiple times in a fight either.

Thanks to the corrosive effect of Thargoid weapons, even with repair or decontamination limpets (limited even with synthesis) and your auto-refill modules, at one point every player has to return to station to repair, refill and register the kills. You are not supposed to fight days without break.

It was just an idea, no need to rip my heart our and stop on it so abruptly :D

Wait until you hear my idea of the Guardian toaster, Guardian shower head and Guardian Banana peeler...it appears these days you can put Guardian in front of any idea and it becomes Si-Fi :O

I know, I have ALL of them :)

The more powerful Thargoids can be solo killed if you have the skill, I recently busted up a Basilisk, and will continue to kill more to refine my technique so that Medusa's are more easier. Synthesis IS required if you plan to take on a Medusa and up, as far as I believe, hydras require premium ammo to kill solo, and has only been done by a handful of people I know. :)

If you have a good hull and evasive skills, you will rarely need to use repairs and such, and can remain in combat for a long time. the GAR I suggested will just add to the operational time required and save on precious materials during combat. CZ's this will be immeasurably helpful, and you can always head home in the end when it is done :)

I certainly understand the request and since Guardian tech is sufficiently advanced to be for all intents and purposes magic this would be the best way to implement it. It seems to me however that it has no downside besides time required (and probably energy consumtion). There would be still matter created from nothing. If it were something that has to be triggered and that consumes module health like a reboot/repair, I would be a lot more supportive.

I am not sure I would like a Guardian shower head installed, sounds like it only ejects triangular ice shards. How about an alarm clock inspired by the Guardian data terminals, and you can get it for free if you convince a friend to subscribe to the Journal of Xeno-Archeology.
