Guardian tech: the more you slot in, the more Voltron you get

Guardian technology is causally amusing, but its drowned out by engineering. What is needed is a super version of the Guardian distributors ability to enhance power delivery- in short each Guardian module added adds either an enhancement to other modules, or powers up the ship in exotic ways.

Some examples:

G Distro: extra power generation, allows the power priority of G modules to be set (so human distros are at a disadvantage) and an extra pip to play with.
G Powerplant: self healing (slowly), or, at low integrity after a good railing its power delivery does not fluctuate like pathetic human tech does. Or, guardian defence drones see you as an ally and will not attack at surface ruins.
G module G hull reinforcement: immune to Thargoid, L cloud lightning and other EMP disruption (based on how many you stack).
G hull reinforcement: % immunity to caustic and Thargon attack (based on stack value)

G shield augs, G FSD module augmented 5% each if attached to a G Distro.

G weapons gain DPS and efficency when mounted onto a ship with both G Distro and G powerplant.

The downsides would be that as you slowly glow up blue with Guardian modules the Thargoids take more of an interest in you- your chance of hyperdiction increases.

In short, make Guardian stuff holistically useful- otherwise people just pick the obvious choices and ignore the rest.

interesting, I like the idea of it and the potential downsides
where do I sign?

:D But its like a lot of Guardian stuff- why bother with it? Its totally niche. The other aspect is that by 'going Guardian' you create an alternative to G5 engineering- like a second progress tree.

If I was being really wild I'd suggest a third tree where you have Thargoid tech, with Guardian ruins really hating you.

Or.....you have a mix of human, Tharg and Guardian on your ship and you get the wild upsides but at the cost of the modules fighting each other (like scrambled power settings and fluctuations).

Rather than Voltron, I'm kinda thinking along these lines...

There you go - fully Guardian-upgraded Anaconda!
hehe - it's a neat idea; we ARE playing with highly advanced million-year-old tech with no way to know if we have FULLY reverse-engineered it all.

I like the idea, I'd also hope they'd do away with the damage penalty of guardian weapons against human targets. Maybe if you have a guardian distributor, the penalty is removed?

As I recall, there was originally supposed to be some sort of synergy with guardian tech. The more guardian modules you slotted, the greater the synergy. Keep the current drawbacks more or less, but perhaps if one were to use guardian pp with pd you get a small recharge boost or total power output increases, or efficiency increases. As far as weapons, now that Fdev has fixed the one shot an interceptor with shard bug, we should be allowed to fit all guardian tech we have the power and thermals to deal with.

Oh, and definitely get rid of the damage reduction against human ships. Make killing gankers posing as proXeno whack job that sometimes make AX combat in open problematic a possibility rather than just running from them when in an AX outfit ship. One of the few aspects of this game I actually enjoy with other player in open and gankers have to make it a pita. Or they used to. Don't ever see hardly anyone outside of the handful of hotspots these days. Maybe they are all in Colonia?
