I hope someone can help me out here. I've just started to do the Guardian mission and was wondering if i have to do it solo or open or a combination of both?

Whichever takes your fancy mate. If in open you'll possible meet like minded CMDR doing the mission as well.

This can be completed in any mode.
I usually do mine in Private Groups, as I find Open to be terribly unstable.
