General / Off-Topic Guardians of the Galaxy.

Just saw this and I couldn't help to think of Elite Dangerous in almost every space scene!

(Not sure if really was similar or whether playing Elite too much?)

Yea, great flic... pity there are no ships in ED that are as creative looking as the Milano, though. I mean, I like the ships designs, but they are rather... practical.

Just saw the movie too.

A couple of notes:

  • An in-ship media player (with options for retro 'skins')
  • Planetary landing expansion and exploration should look like scene where Star Lord is retrieving the Orb
  • Mining ancient organic matter
  • Forget about Dyson spheres, we need hollowed out planetoid mining bases
  • NPC crew need to have interest personality

I really liked the Dark Aster.

I rarely go to the movies anymore unless it a really cool Sci Fi one.

I like guardians a lot, the CG will definitely win many awards.

Loved it and instantly decided to change my name to Star-Lord. But obviously somebody got in there first. :)

Mhm. Watched the first five minutes on a stream and stopped due to being extremely bored:

- Setting a mood on this wasted planet semmingly without real implications for the story.

- Action sequence with so many "whew that was close" moments it just comes across for me as being ridicously overdone.

- Yeah, ok, the one-night-stand was still in the ship. This is a Sci-Fi comedy, right? Sorry, not my cup of tea. Switched off.
