I dont actually think i will miss it that much. Doesnt look like it will be much use after the new patch. I took it out the other night hoping to find a player to kill me. (Seriously what do you have to do to get killed in open these days?)
And finally ended up just giving the bounty to the NPC system defense force.

I pity the noobs who spend alot of time in these things. I had fond memories of it and truthfully i dont know what i was thinking I think when 3.0 drops i will get it engineered, at least the thrusters, shields and cannon. Maybe surprise someone.

Speak for yourself, I have an engineered sidewinder that I take out on certain missions, my only issue with the sidy is that it won't fit as advertised into a a hangar bay. If I ever need to fast travel from Colonia back to bubble, I'll be looking at a sidewinder

Which missions do you use it for? i honestly cant think of any particular good mission use other than comedic value.

Normally planetary stuff, base scans, skimmers, salvage. I still have the first sidewinder and free Eagle I received, both fully modded. The rest of my sidy's are in various states, those where old bookmarks.

The ones where you kill skimmers and then crash into the ground to prevent the time wasted on a return trip. Those kind of missions.

Don't underestimate the value in that

Sucidewinder will still have it's occasional uses... just not in same manner as before. Fly something big and expensive out to Colonia, buy a disposable sidewinder, crash it into the side of Jacques, skip the rebuy for the free trip back to the bubble.

I've used this a few times as a means of saving myself repeated Jump-Scoops that reduce my fun meter. Of course, I rarely go very far, certainly never to Jacques, but that may change by 3.4.
